Sushant Kamble

Since I was young, I've loved tinkering with electronics, all thanks to my grandpa's guidance. I'd spend hours making my own gadgets, like power banks from old Macbook batteries or burglar alarms to safeguard my stuff from my brother's snooping hands.

When I got my hands on a computer, it opened up a whole new world of programming. I started coding and making apps in Visual Basics in my free time.

During summers, I'd dive into 3D modeling using Maya and turn simple Flash games into 3D adventures using Unreal Engine 4 by referring to YouTube tutorials.

These experiences ignited my passion for prototyping, that continues to drive me forward this journey.

While my journey has taken me through various roles and disciplines, one thing has remained constant:

Hardware Prototyping

Arduino-based solar phone charging case


  • During my undergraduate years, I embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure with a friend from the business school.

  • Together, we conceptualized and built an Adruino enabled mobile phone case, powered by solar energy and controllable via bluetooth.

  • This venture not only honed my skills in hardware prototyping and application development but also earned recognition from our university's technology business incubation department for innovation.

Smart Home Automation


  • As part of our startup journey, we ventured into developing another product in the Internet of Things (IoT) space. The concept revolved around creating an affordable yet dependable solution for controlling home appliances. We opted to utilize PIC microcontrollers, leveraging their capacitive touch feature for user interaction.

  • My role encompassed both hardware assembly and the creation of an Android application for remote control of this panel. Additionally, we integrated a separate relay module into the panel, facilitating the connection of household appliances operating on AC voltage.

Web Application Prototyping

No-Code Editor for Data Transformation


  • After completing my undergraduate degree, I embarked on a journey with a startup Scalex Cloud. Here, I fully embraced the dynamic startup culture, allowing me to broaden my expertise in product design and development.

  • In this project, I worked closely alongside UX designers, developers, and stakeholders, I played a central role in creating the initial prototype and leading the frontend team for this No-code data transformation platform.

Dashboard Builder for Realtime Analytics


  • Charts and analytics represent a pivotal aspect of Clarista's feature set, providing users with comprehensive insights and data visualization capabilities.

  • In my role, I spearheaded the Proof of Concept (POC) initiative which involved developing functionalities for seamlessly dragging and dropping charts onto a canvas, ensuring layout consistency, enabling customization options, and facilitating real-time dashboard publication.



Tooling and Workflow Optimization

AI-powered Web Scrapper


  • During my time at UT Austin, I developed a AI-powered tailored web scraping tool powered by Open AI APIs that created custom datasets and enabled two distinct research studies.

  • Study 1: The tool was instrumental in curating datasets comprising over a thousand IMDb directors, encompassing detailed information on their demographics, education, and career trajectories. These datasets were utilized to conduct socio-economic analyses.

  • Study 2: Additionally, the tool was employed to extract and analyze text from news articles sourced from the Global Database of Events, Language, and Tone (GDELT), facilitating analyses of internal crisis behaviors on a global scale.

Dynamic Survey with Advanced Branching


  • I undertook the task of facilitating user tests for researchers by developing a dynamic survey.

  • This survey required intricate logic to collect data and formulate questions tailored to each participant's specific criteria. To accomplish this, I was responsible for crafting custom JavaScript code for Qualtric's JS form engine, enabling sophisticated branching and question generation.

  • The extensive customization provided researchers with the capability to validate data in real-time, dynamically show/hide specific pages, and show only relevant questions as per participant's background.

Mixed Reality Prototyping

Workshop on Blending Realities


  • Our workshop aimed to demystify AR, VR, and MR, offering hands-on exploration and fostering a beginner-friendly environment.

  • My role was to develop demo prototypes for Meta Quest headsets, conducted tool analysis, and provided technical support throughout the workshop, ensuring a seamless learning experience.

  • The workshop's impact was profound, with participants successfully creating and deploying their mixed-reality demos to headsets. Many left with newfound confidence and inspiration to explore further in mixed reality development.

VR Game: Elixir Expedition


  • I facilitated UX researchers in conducting user testing by transforming the game concept into a VR experience using the Unity game engine.

  • Our research aimed to craft an immersive VR experience featuring embodied agents, enhancing the sense of body ownership and presence to evaluate immersion, fear, and system usability score (SUS).

  • My primary responsibility involved leading Unity development and optimizing the game for Meta Quest. I employed techniques such as occlusion culling, baked lights, light probes, and dynamic level of details to improve frame rates and overall performance.

Capstone: Spatial Design System


  • For my capstone project, I'm collaborating with Bezi to develop a design system aligned with Apple's Spatial Design guidelines.

  • My tasks involve crafting 2D elements in Figma and generating a library of reusable 3D components in Bezi, with a focus on creating experiences akin to enhanceing technical training for factory workers.
